History is written and rewritten like footprints pressed into soil.
As it moves through the world, the human body engages with unspoken conversations of turmoil and the processes of healing. This body allows me to reconcile with tensions and discourses of the Australian landscape, and how my present-connections to the land have affected these spaces. I recognise that time can be distorted and manipulated with my own hands; my own developments through mediums like photography and video verifies this paradox. But I intend for the experiences of such media to discuss and understand taboo topics, including what it means for me, and perhaps others, to be Australian. I fear I may remain ignorant or naive in these conversations if it isn’t considered. Through this practice, I intend to become more acquainted with our past and how it interacts with the present of these sites.
